Demand for talent is high, and 50% of companies are actively hiring. Many companies are struggling to find developers, DevOps and UX professionals as businesses turn to consultancies to help them improve digital customer experience and design better ways of working in technology. The sector is still male-dominated, with only 6% of CEOs or MDs being female, and we are seeing more companies seek advice on diverse shortlists and inclusive hiring processes.
Investment into the sector dropped to £141m in 2021 compared to £183m in 2020. However, over £171m has been invested in the sector year to date over 46 fundraisings, so this year could be a record year rivalling 2017 when £207m was invested.
